The first of the resumed All Stakeholder’s meetings is being held at 6:30pm on April 8th at the Administration Centre to discuss draft growth forecasts to be used in the LRFP modelling. The advance material was posted on the Springwater.ca website here a week in advance.

Review of this indicates that three growth scenarios over a 20 year period are being considered to be modelled in the LRFP. The low growth scenario is based on past growth rates, with little or no Midhurst Secondary Plan (MSP) growth and continued development of other existing plans of subdivision. The medium growth scenario exceeds the Province’s Places To Grow Schedule 7 targets (population growth to 24,000 by 2013 and employment of 5,600. Note – the employment target has already been achieved). It involves partial development of phase 1 of the MSP and continued development of other existing plans of subdivision. The high growth scenario exceeds the Schedule 7 targets, assumes full development of phase 1 of MSP (3,850 households) and higher than historical growth in other existing plans of subdivision. I will continue to report on feedback, developments and progress with respect to the LRFP. It is important to attend the Stakeholder meetings (next one after this week is on May 13th) and to complete the online LRFP survey questionnaire to communicate your thoughts.
