Springwater in Orange-Restrict Level of Provincial COVID-19 Response Framework
Township of Springwater / November 25, 2020 – As of November 23, the Township of Springwater is in the orange-restrict level of the Province of Ontario’s COVID-19 Response Framework.
The COVID-19 Response Framework, introduced on November 3, places each of Ontario’s public health units into one of five colour-coded categories based on the level of virus spread within the community, and the capacity of the hospitals. Areas with the lowest levels of virus cases counts, positivity rates and community transmission are in a green category, with the most permission rules and as rates and case counts rise, move through to yellow, orange, red with more restrictive regulations in place. The final level is grey or lockdown and includes implementing widescale measures and closures to restrict the spread of the virus.
The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit area is currently in the orange-restrict level. As a result the following restrictions are in place in Springwater:
? Gatherings continue to be limited to 10 people indoors and 25 outdoors. However, the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit strongly advises that people only have close contacts with their direct household at this time.
? Workplace COVID-19 screenings must take place.
? Face coverings are required in all indoor public spaces, at workplaces and
recommended in places where physical distancing is a challenge.
? Residents are encouraged to restrict non-essential travel and only plan essential
outings at this time.
? Self-monitor for symptoms and stay home if you are sick. If you have COVID-19
symptoms, get tested and self-isolate until test results are received.
Elmvale Arena and local sports teams:
? Face coverings are required, except when on the ice or exercising.
? Follow all capacity limitation signs posted in facilities. There is a maximum of 20
people on the ice at any time.
? Programs are limited to 10 people per room indoors, subject to facility capacity
and being able to maintain the required 3 metre physical distancing, and 25 people outdoors.
? All participants must complete a Township of Springwater online COVID-19 screening form prior to arriving.
? Spectators are not permitted.
? The volume of music must be lowered to not interfere with normal conversation.
Restaurants and Bars:
? Limited to 50 person indoor seated capacity.
? All restaurants and bars must close at 10 p.m.
? Alcohol is only permitted to be sold/served between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m.
? Contact tracing information is required for patrons.
? Limit of 4 people may be seated together.
? Music volume must be limited to be no louder than the volume of a normal
The Township of Springwater Administration Centre remains open to the public, however appointments are strongly encouraged. All community centres, fire halls and public works yards remain closed to the public.
